Introduction

The Sermo student project developed a discussion panel for the users of the Internet. The projects orderer was Group Technologies Programme at the University of Jyväskylä.

Implementation

Sermo client is a java applet and it can be run with any WWW browser which is compatible with JDK 1.1. Some existing software were used also: ircd and eggdrop. Jikes Java compiler and JDK 1.1.7 were used as tools and APIs in developing this java applet. Eggdrop's extensions were made in tcl scripting language.
