AIMS AND SCOPE


The goal of the workshop is to bring together young researchers and internationally well-known scientists working on mathematical and numerical analysis for mathematical models based on partial differential equations within a nice and friendly atmosphere.


The 8th Workshop on Analysis and Advanced Numerical Methods for Partial Differential Equations for Junior Scientists (AANMPDE2015) will take place at the Särkisaari island 52 kms from Jyväskylä, Finland, August 3-6, 2015, and is organized by the following institutes:
  • Department of Mathematical Information Technology (MIT), University of Jyväskylä, Finland,
  • St. Petersburg Department of V.A. Steklov Institute of Mathematics of the Russian Academy of Sciences, St. Petersburg, Russia,
  • Universität Duisburg-Essen, Campus Essen Fakultät für Mathematik, and
  • Johann Radon Institute for Computational and Applied Mathematics (RICAM), Austrian Academy of Sciences, Linz, Austria.

  • mathematical analysis of models based on partial differential equations: solution theories, asymptotic analysis, regularity;
  • advanced numerical methods for partial differential equations: approximation theory, rate convergence estimates, a priori and a posteriori error analysis, error indicators, adaptivity;
  • new mathematical models in applied science and engineering;
  • optimization methods for models based on partial differential equations;
  • Maxwell's equations.

LOCATION

The workshop is planned to be organaized at the Särkisaari camping center. It is located on the Särkisaari island on the lake Päijänne. The total area, i.e., 17 acres of the island, is connected to the land by a bridge. The distance from island to the center of Jämsä is approximately 18 kms, and 52 kms from center of Jyväskylä. The beautiful nature, comfortable and modern conference and banqueting facilities are excellent for the event. Main building of the camping was designed by architect Antti Eskelinen in 1978. Lakeside sauna was completed in 1993-2001.
