Introduction to optimal control

Course

Optimization, optimal control and optimal design theories play a fundamental role in the effort to increase the efficiency in all fields of human activity. The course aims to introduce the participants to this modern field of mathematics via numerous examples and applications, some of which will be completely solved. The prerequisites required for a full understanding are just basic elements of mathematical analysis and differential equations. The lectures will be completed by exercises related to the notions that form the object of the course.
