The first SCOMA Workshop on Advanced Computer Simulation Methods for PhD students and junior scientists will be organized by the Mathematical Information Technology Department of the University of Jyvaskyla, Finland 29-30 March 2007.

Aims and Scope

Workshop gives a frame for the exposition of the results obtained by junior researches in such fields as advanced numerical methods, computer simulation in science and engineering and new theoretical results in computational mathematics. The purpose of this seminar is to initialize a series of such meetings. Each Workshop will make an accent on two selected topics in the numerical analysis.
Conference is mainly oriented to postgraduate students and young scientists. It is planned that the Program will include 30 minutes presentations (25 min talk and 5 min discussion) of young scientists and two 45 min lectures of invited speakers that will be devoted to certain actual topics in the area. Also, it is planned a special time for the joint discussion.
